Omelo vs CB Insights (2026): A Market Map You Read, or One That Reaches Out

CB Insights says "The world's leading enterprises use CB Insights to find the right startups to acquire, invest in, partner with and sell to." It covers "12M+" private companies across "1,600+" markets, publishes market maps, and runs a team of AI agents over that data. It is strongest when the question is which companies matter in a market.

Omelo answers the next question: who at those companies to talk to, and how to reach them. It maps a market down to verified people and reaches them on email, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, website contact forms and handwritten letters.

The short answer

CB Insights tells you which companies matter. Omelo gets you the people at them and starts the conversations, on seven channels.

Market maps: to read, or to act on

A CB Insights market map is a view of a landscape: the companies in a market, with profiles, funding and relationships, and agents such as the "Business Relationship Analyst" for an "Instant X-ray of known customer, vendor, and partner relationships."

An Omelo market map starts from one plain-English sentence about the market. It comes back as segments of companies, each scored with the reasons behind the score, such as recent funding or news and whether the decision makers can be reached, and the people at those companies with their titles. The map refreshes every week, every company on it is watched for new events, and the best-placed companies arrive as opportunities for you to approve.

People and outreach

CB Insights does show people: its browser extension gives information on executives, including "work history, email addresses, and LinkedIn profiles." For sales teams it offers to "Build lists of companies most likely to buy" and to "Capture attention with relevant, timely outreach" with insight to open on. We found no sending on its pages: the outreach itself happens in your other tools.

Omelo verifies each person before it reaches them, sends LinkedIn invitations and messages for you, DMs people on X, Instagram and TikTok, fills in website contact forms, and mails handwritten letters once you approve the draft.

How Omelo works

You tell Omelo who you need to reach in one sentence, the way you would say it out loud: "GPs who led a climate seed round this quarter," "finance YouTubers with 50,000 to 200,000 subscribers," "owners of independent med spas across the Sun Belt." Omelo gets you those people, verifies every one, writes to each of them individually, and reaches them on the channel they answer: email, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, website contact forms and handwritten letters. Calls and gifts come prepared for you, with a researched call script or a gift and a ready cart.

On X and Instagram, Omelo opens the person's profile, looks around, follows, pauses, then sends the message, and moves on to the next person minutes or hours later in natural sessions, with a daily number that changes day to day. LinkedIn runs through a managed connection with warmup and per-account caps. Connect a company account and a personal one, and nobody hears from both.
